Twilio stock price jumped to its highest level since January 2022 after publishing strong financial results. TWLO hit a high of $248, up by over 500% from its lowest level in 2023, with its market capitalization hitting over $37 billion.

Twilio’s business is gaining momentum

Twilio has become one of the best-performing software companies in the United States because of the crucial services it provides. Its business provides its customers with essential services like SMS, voice, email, and other solutions. These solutions are important in the verification and identity, alerts and notifications, marketing, and other solutions.

While Twilio is not a household name, its services are widely used by billions of people a month. Some of its top clients are companies like Lyft, Uber, Reddit, Indeed, Shopify, and Stripe.

Its services have become essential in the era of artificial intelligence, where human verification is important. It demonstrated this value proposition when it published its financial results.

Its results showed that its revenue growth by 22% in the second quarter to $1.5 billion, while the gross profit jumped by 20% to $726 million. This growth was mostly driven by the messaging division, which now accounts for 59% of its revenue.

Most importantly, the company’s margins continued growing, with the gross margin moving to 49%, up sharply from 8% in the second quarter of last year. Its free cash flow continued growing, reaching $353 million in the second quarter.

The company continued innovating, launching several products, including conversation memory and orchestrator. In a statement, the CEO noted that:

“We unveiled a revamped Twilio platform giving customers the building blocks they need to power rich, lifelong conversations. In a world where humans and AI agents increasingly work side by side, Twilio is providing the infrastructure to power them both.”

Top analysts have boosted their Twilio stock forecasts. Rosenblatt hiked the target from $230 to $275, while Needham boosted it to $280. BTIG boosted the target to $285, while Oppenheimer and Citizens hiked theirs to $275.

In addition to its revenue growth, analysts believe that the company is a bargain. The forward price-to-earnings ratio has moved to 33, lower than the five-year average of 157. Also, the forward PEG ratio stands at 1.06.
