11-year-old travel company files for bankruptcy and cancels trips

While airlines are currently struggling with the spike in jet fuel prices caused by the war in Iran, the situation is often even more dire for travel agencies and companies selling various package holidays and organized tours.

The string of family-owned travel agency collapses has been particularly prominent in the United Kingdom in recent months.

British travel companies that were forced to shut down in 2026 includes include Trav Expert, Groupia, Salamander Voyages, Travel Bespoke, Regen Central, Set Sail Cruises and Yourtravelshop.com. The latter travel agency was established in the greater London town of Ilford in 2004 and sold organized tours to several Islamic holy sites that Muslims typically visit for the Hajj, Umrah, and Ziyarat pilgrimages.

TS Travels Group assigned liquidators as travel company website disappears from internet

The latest report of a travel agency collapse comes from the West Yorkshire capital of Leeds; early reports show that TS Travels Group Ltd. was assigned a liquidator from Birmingham after more than a decade in operation.

Registered in 2015, TS Travels Group sold bus tours through West Yorkshire to tourists to the region, school groups and private tours and corporate transfers.

Laura Anne Walshe of Keywood Group Limited was assigned to oversee the liquidation process on July 29 while reports published through the Companies House, the British government agency in charge of incorporating and dissolving businesses, shows that TS Travels Group owed more than £250,000 (roughly $336,200 USD) in debt to various vendors at the time it was forced to enter bankruptcy proceedings.

TS Travels Group website stops taking new bookings, those with booked trips struggle to reach company

Since the start of August, travelers trying to go on the TS Travels Group online website are unable to do so as they are greeted by a broken link. The company has not publicly commented on its financial situation or liquidation process which means that travelers could be left having to go through consumer protection agencies to get any sort of reimbursement.

In the past, the company advertised “reliable and safe coach services for tours in West Yorkshire.”
