Dior launches a new luxury spa

While the rise of Dior dates back to 1947 when the legendary French designer launched his debut “New Look” collection on Avenue Montaigne in Paris, it took more than 50 years for the fashion brand to enter the spa and wellness space when the first Dior Spa Plaza Athénée opened at the opulent hotel by Dior’s flagship boutique in 2008.

The space was envisioned as a high-end sanctuary away from urban noise and offers a number of high-precision signature treatments using skin cell regeneration and light therapy.

As the spa became a well-known secret among those in search of the luxury life in Paris, Dior Spa eventually expanded to nine locations around the world: the top of the flagship Dior store in New York on East 57th street, Hamad International Airport in the Qatar capital of Doha, and the iconic Splendido hotel in Italy’s Portofino as well as two inside a carriage of two ultra-luxury Belmond trains: the Royal Scotsman taking travelers on a voyage through the Scottish Highlands and the Eastern & Oriental Express departing from Singapore for a journey through Malaysia.

Dior Spa comes to Hotel Cipriani in Venice

The newest feather in the Dior Spa portfolio is the iconic Hotel Cipriani in Venice. The 10th Dior Spa location opened at the iconic hotel opened in 1958 by the creator of Harry’s Bar and the Bellini cocktail on July 15.

The spa was built as a part of a multi-year renovation of the historic hotel sitting in a private hideaway from the rest of the city on Giudeca Island and features five treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge, and boutique selling Dior perfumes, skin care and cosmetics.

The menu of treatments includes three main pillars available at other Dior Spa locations: Haute Definition (skin analysis and diagnostics), Haute Precision (the precision treatments themselves) and Haute Touch (massages as well as microcurrents and cryotherapy) as well as some signature rituals.

The spa space was envisioned by architect and interior designer Peter Marino in that blend of 18th-century Venetian Rococo and 1950s Italian glamour after which the rest of Hotel Cipriani is modeled: stucco and terrazzo tiling, natural light and a color palette of cream white, mint green and taupe to create an atmosphere of serenity as well as bottles of Dior perfume and the signature white lily of the valley as décor.

The new Dior Spa opened at Hotel Cipriani on July 15.

“A spa that feels deeply rooted in its Venetian context”

While both Hotel Cipriani and the Belmond hotel group are owned by luxury group LVMH, the Venetian setting was chosen due to Christian Dior’s personal connection to the city.

In September 1951, the designer traveled to the city to attend a masquerade ball at the 17th-century Palazzo Labia, which he called “the most beautiful evening of my life,” and later turned to Piazza San Marco and Santa Maria della Salute as both photo shoot backgrounds and inspiration for his fashions.

“The result is a spa that feels deeply rooted in its Venetian context while embodying the spirit of Dior — a destination where heritage, craftsmanship, and contemporary luxury come together to create a uniquely immersive experience,” Belmond wrote in announcing the new location.
