SpaceX (SPCX) Stock: $134.72 Week Ahead After Closing Below…

Updated 31 October 2026. SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX) closed Friday at $134.72, down $9.17 or 6.37 percent, below its $135 IPO price (Stockanalysis; Motley Fool). The fall broke the $140 level buyers had defended twice in October, after Intel’s weak guidance hit the case for its SpaceX partnership. Verdict: the week ahead starts below the IPO price with the 22 October unlock still being absorbed. The level to win back is $140; Friday’s $134.50 low is the floor. Reference levels: $120 below, $150 above.

Key facts

  • Price: SPCX closed at $134.72 on 30 October, down 6.37 percent from $143.89, after a $134.50-$140.20 range (Motley Fool; Stockanalysis). Volume was 122.7 million shares against a 102.5 million average (Motley Fool).
  • Against the IPO: the shares priced at $135 on 11 June and peaked at $225.64 on 16 June (FinanceFeeds). Friday’s close is 40.3 percent below that peak.
  • Value: market capitalisation of about $1.83 trillion at Friday’s close (Motley Fool; Yahoo Finance).
  • Market: the Nasdaq fell 2.86 percent and the S&P 500 1.82 percent on Friday, the last trading day of October (Cryptoticker).
  • Supply: up to 1.3 billion shares were unlocked on 22 October; a further tranche of up to 797.6 million shares releases in early December, while Elon Musk’s stake stays locked until 12 June 2027 (FinanceFeeds).
  • Analysts: 46 analysts give a Moderate Buy consensus and an average target of $244.97, with a $75 low and $800 high (MarketBeat).

Why SpaceX stock fell below $135

The main trigger came from Intel. Intel beat third-quarter estimates on Thursday night but guided fourth-quarter earnings to $0.25 a share against a $0.44 consensus and revenue to no more than $16 billion against $17.1 billion expected, and its stock fell 28.6 percent (Motley Fool). Before the report, Northland analyst Gus Richard had called Intel’s partnership with SpaceX “a significant catalyst” for Intel. The weak guidance undercut that argument for both companies, and SPCX slid 2.9 percent by 11 am ET before closing down 6.4 percent (Motley Fool).

Two other worries added to the selling. Bank of America warned that Chinese antimonopoly authorities could block SpaceX’s reported plans to merge with Tesla, because about half of Tesla’s car production comes from Shanghai (Motley Fool). Trading-news sites also reported that the EU is fast-tracking approval of Project Bromo, a multi-company satellite venture that would compete with Starlink (StocksToTrade); this is secondary reporting and there is no official EU statement yet.

The setup was already weak. The stock fell about 9 percent on 22 October, the day up to 1.3 billion shares were unlocked, and closed at $145.23 on 28 October, below its $149.43 50-day moving average (see our unlock coverage). Friday’s fall took it through $140, a level buyers had held twice in October.

What the balance sheet says

The selloff is about valuation and supply, not solvency. Fitch put SpaceX’s liquidity at $89.9 billion at 30 September against $38.0 billion of total debt, with no material principal due until July 2031, and on 28 October cut its end-2026 EBITDA leverage forecast to 1.5x from 1.7x (via FinanceFeeds).

Wall Street targets

Analysts have mostly stood by the stock since the third-quarter report. MarketBeat lists 4 Strong Buy, 30 Buy, 9 Hold and 3 Sell ratings. Recent targets include Bank of America at $275 (raised from $235 on 22 October), Bernstein at $267 (26 October), Pivotal Research at $260, Goldman Sachs at $245 and Mizuho at $205 (MarketBeat). The $244.97 average is about 82 percent above Friday’s close. Even MoffettNathanson’s $142 target, one of the lowest, is now above the price (FinanceFeeds, citing MarketBeat).

SPCX this week: bull, base and bear

Scenario SPCX What has to happen Anchor
Bear $120 The tech selloff continues, Friday’s $134.50 low breaks, and holders who were unlocked on 22 October keep selling ahead of the December tranche. About 11 percent below Friday’s $134.72 close, roughly halfway back to the August low near $108 (FinanceFeeds).
Base $130-$142 The stock trades around the $135 IPO price while the market waits for the midterms and the jobs report. The IPO price, with old $140 support now acting as resistance.
Bull $150 Tech stabilises, SPCX wins back $140 quickly and buyers return at the IPO price. The 50-day moving average of $149.43 as of 28 October (FinanceFeeds), about 11 percent above Friday’s close.

What to watch this week

  • Monday 2 November: whether the stock holds the $135 IPO price on the first session after Friday’s rout.
  • Tuesday 3 November: US midterm elections, and AMD’s third-quarter results, another test of AI chip sentiment after Intel.
  • Friday 6 November: the October jobs report, which moves Fed hike bets and growth stocks with them.
  • Early December: the next lock-up tranche of up to 797.6 million shares (FinanceFeeds).

Quick take: SpaceX closed Friday at $134.72, down 6.4 percent and below its $135 IPO price, as Intel’s weak guidance hit the case for their partnership and the Nasdaq fell 2.9 percent. Expect $130-$142 this week; losing Friday’s low opens $120, and $150 needs a quick return above $140.
